The Operations Department is a core element of the group shipping activity and is located mainly in Monaco with COGEMA SAM, although services are provided also through our agency network. The main target is handling post-fixtures activities for both dry cargo (d'Amico Dry Limited and Medbulk services) and tankers (d'Amico Tankers Limited), maximizing worldwide safety and efficiency of the fleet operations.

Service to customers is based on a 24 hours availability of the shore personnel, to support vessels and charterers at all times.

A strong coordination within the group among operations, technical and crew management has enabled to develop an efficient and time saving service to vessels in terms of spare parts, crew change and various supplies.

Activities are focused on high standard daily monitoring of the group owned and chartered fleet, including an accurate vessels speed and performance control also through the means of the Purplefinder tracking system.
Vessels' commercial activities in ports are monitored through regional agency agreements to ensure smooth and safe turnarounds.Bunker purchase activity for the group is performed by RUDDER SAM. The activity is based on a constant quality assessment of bunker traders and direct contact with oil major companies such as ExxonMobil and BP, to ensure competitive prices, good quality products and safe delivery on the vessels. In 2002, for the entire fleet a total of 116,500 m/t of bunker was purchased.

Supervision of vetting activities such as vessels' inspections, contacts with major oil companies for vessels' approvals and updating of SIRE reports are handled by the department, that has been successfully audited by Shell, Vela, TotalFinaElf and Exxonmobil.
The department is integrated in the group Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System (SQE) in conformity with
